Sweater #28

Sweater 28

Placed in Harold Washington Public Library, sweater #28 is a peon compared to the amazing art work displayed throughout the entire library. In addition, there were a lot of guards and policeman walking about which made placement rather difficult as sometimes this process can be rather intimidating for a law abiding mid-westerner.  The question of what substantiates art versus litter definitely crosses the mind while leaving behind these objects.  Of noteworthiness is the prevalence of social identification as the person placing these objects does not appear to be homeless or of questionable purpose. Would these objects be able to be easily placed if they were positioned by certain cultural identifiers attributed to those who may be up to “no good”?
