Sweater #50

Minneapolis’s sculpture garden boasts of many great works including Mark Di Suvero’s sculpture Arikidea that is supposed to mimic the artist’s vision of a rusty brown spider atop a fresh bed of snow.  The hit of this work though is the cable supported platform that everyone young and old sits on–hence the placement of the sweater.  Not wanting to tag along on the coat tails of another artist, I hesitantly placed this here as I observed many people directly interacting with this work in ways other areas were not utilized.  Thank you Mr. di Suvero…does it help that I show your work to all of my intro to art students as an example of assemblage?
