Sweater #96

Sweater #96 was placed along the western canal that provides eastern metropolitan Phoenix with irrigation.  The path along this canal is designed for recreational use and hopefully will attract viable participants.  The presence of water in the desert is also pretty amazing visually and is a life affirming image for desert dwellers (despite the abundance of golf courses).  Historically, the canals are also quite impressive as they are remnants from indigenous cultures who created the canals beginning in 600 A.D. and have been adapted to current agricultural needs.
