Sweater #110

This sweater was knitted by Tatyana Krivosheev in Atlanta, GA and placed in a public park that is frequented by white collar workers, college students and is also the recognized place for homeless gatherings within the city.  Tatyana writes, “Woodruff Park in Atlanta is usually filled with professional men and women from nearby highrises, college students (like myself) and a multitude of homeless people. I’ve even heard students referring to it as “Homeless Park”. This week it was also the site of a movie shoot, some new romantic comedy with Ryan Reynolds. Walking through the sets, the massive lighting, electical equipment the set up and clean up crews…. I was just astonished at the amounts of resources spent by the entertainment industry. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics the average American household spends 5.6% of their annual budget on entertainment. That’s about $600 every year spent on “fun”.  No judgement here, just pointing out facts. In the first picture you see the big trucks hauling equipment. In the second there is a homless man in the background… What a staggering juxtaposition of resource distribution.”
