Sweater #236

This sweater was placed in Evanston, IL along the beach of Lake Michigan.  Adjacent to huge homes and in a rather affluent part of the community, this seemed like a perfect place to situate a sweater.  Inspired by the aquatic symbols that often connote caution or attention, this sweater also highlights the need to respond and to be aware. Public land such as parks are often a destination spot for those without a permanent shelter. And while I did not see any distressed individuals who fit the bill of being homeless, one never knows what others are struggling with in their lives such as job loss, financial issues due to health care costs, etc. But on this afternoon, with the water gently crashing into the beach front, this spot called to me as the perfect home for this sweater.
